Earth Day 2019 is the perfect day to formally launch our wood burning loco, Green Dragon, into service.
Loco U.V.E No 1 Hunslet 1859 0f 1937 came back to the UK in 1997 and was bought by the South Tynedale Railway Preservation Society and moved to Alston in 1998.
Thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund the loco was restored by North Bay Engineeering, Statfold Barn and the engineering team here at South Tynedale Railway.
