Outdoors, Indoors and Trains Spring Outdoor Week 2016  Task list: • Stacking salvaged sleepers at Wharf  • Started work on re-sleepering the loco road turnout at Wharf • Gardening at Wharf • Dismantling part of the high level headshunt beside the ballast dock approach road • Museum wagon painting • Painting the dovecote • Removal of scrap timber from Wharf • Removal of excess and unsuitable firewood from Pendre • Bonfire at Ty Mawr bridge • Hendy Bridge maintenance • Tree maintenance work milepost 2 ¼ – 2 ¾ and 3 ¾ – 4 • Drainage work in tadpole cutting at Brynglas and the usual trouble spots at Dolgoch, Abergynolwyn and on the extension.

• Replacing 230 sleepers at the bottom end Six Bends • Ballasting and tamping the above section • Hedge laying work in the Six Bends area and near milepost 4 ¼ • Gauge maintenance between Brynglas Station and milepost 4 Trains run included 5 ballast trains and others for salvage, logs and boscage.

Tasks that still need further work: • Boscage clearance • More ballast on the re-sleepered section • Tadpole cutting drainage • Loco road turnout at Wharf Gang numbers (last years figures in brackets) 40 (39) people gave 212 (202.5) days of hard work over the 9 days A excellent turnout and list of achievements.
