Over the past year, Talyllyn Railway steam locomotive No.3 Sir Haydn has been on a unique tour around the steam heritage railways and museums of the UK, and the next leg of its tour has now been announced.
This is the second time that the locomotive has been a visitor to the Severn Valley Railway after appearing as a guest star at the railways ‘Autumn Steam Gala’ in September.
It has popped up in various surprising places over the year and brought back memories of previous happy visits to the Talyllyn Railway to those that have seen it across the UK.’ This year, Sir Haydn has visited the Great Central Railway at both its Loughborough and Nottingham sites, as well as the Tyseley Open Days in Birmingham; from there the loco visited the Midland Railway, Butterley followed by the Severn Valley Railway and West Somerset Railway.
