Trip to the Great Central Railway Following No 3 Sir Haydn’s sojourn in Maespoeth Shed, where she was looked after by our Corris friends, the loco is now off on her travels!
No 3’s home last weekend was Quorn and Woodhouse station on the Great Central Railway.
It was a good opportunity to showcase our revamped publicity stand and answer the question – "Why is a small Welsh steam engine at a big steam engine gala?" Well, just down the road was the Falcon works of ‘Hughes Locomotive & Tramway Engine Works’ where our No 3 was built. It was fantastic to see the many people came to take a look at the locomotive over the week-end, including the great nieces of Sir Henry Haydn Jones, former owner of the Talyllyn Railway, after whom the locomotive is named.
