Back in September, we mentioned that the Moseley Railway Trust’s WW1 water tank wagon had won “Best Wagon” in the Heritage Railway Assocaition Carriage & Wagon competition.
The basis of the rebuild was a water tank discovered at the Nocton potato farm which grows for Smith’s Crisps (the blue packets of salt are grown somewhere else).
The tank wagon is provisionally booked to spend next summer as part of an exhibition at the Dutch National Railway Museum in Utrecht.
