Hi,
I am living nearby at Pant and regularly walk past this railway and it is sad to report that the magnificent Baldwin loco was taken off the line for repairs some years ago(about 2005/6)and has not been seen on the line since.
I often used to speak to the highly skilled loco machinist and other highly skilled staff but they were all made redundant at the same time as when this loco was taken off the line.They said management had blamed a continuous decline in paying visitors for the current state of affairs.
Apparently the railtrack itself was also in a dangerous state and I have personally witnessed the locos coming off the track on a few occasions.
I really got to know some of the train staff that were once employed there, especially those that live locally and they are all of the same opinion that the end is near for this railway.
