Garratt 2-8-2+2-8-2 (Henschel no. 23109 of 1936)stored at Bangkok in December 1975. The first batch of these Garratt locos was built in 1929 for use on the steeply graded sections of the northeastern line but proved to be underpowered mainly because they were wood fired. No. 457 was the first of a second batch of two locos built with much larger boilers. It was withdrawn for preservation in 1964.
