This is a view of Dorothea main quarry taken from near the big dressing shed. The slate was hauled out by Blondin (aerial ropeway) but a hair-raising road all the way to the bottom was cut in the early 60s. A trip down this road in the quarry Landrover (no brakes) was a rare experience!!
